PyroScience manufactures innovative opto-chemical sensor concepts for underwater total scale pH and (ultra-trace, ultra-fast) O2 measurements to cover the needs for ocean sensing. The plug&play AquapHOx products comprise oceanic pH and oxygen long-term loggers for stand-alone operation and real-time transmitters for profiling and flux measurements. The AquapHOx series features sensor head flexibility and is available as shallow-water and deep sea loggers/transmitters for temperature-compensated total scale pH and oxygen measurements in coastal and deep ocean waters. They seamlessly integrate with autonomous observation platforms like Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers, buoys, gliders, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, ROV and CTDs. Optical pH sensors represent a viable alternative to traditional pH measurement for global ocean pH monitoring. Our pH sensors are based on a unique optical detection principle (REDFLASH technology), eliminating the need for a reference electrode, and feature an outstanding low cross-sensitivity to ionic strength in marine waters, as well as an excellent sensitivity in the marine pH range of 7-9. This makes the AquapHOx with total scale pH sensor cap an excellent sensor solution for measurements even under demanding deep-sea conditions. To combat biofouling challenges, PyroScience has recently launched a pH sensor cap sensor with novel anti-fouling layer PHCAP-PK8T-AF-SUB for long-term measurements. In addition to the plug&play AquapHOx devices, also different OEM solutions for custom integration are available for diverse marine R&D in oceanography, ocean mapping and surveying, seabed mining, offshore wind energy, aquaculture and more.
